Director of Schools search narrowed down

The search for a new director of schools is down to two candidates John Ash and Elizabeth Lackey.

The two were selected during a special called school board meeting held on Monday night (March 9).

The two will participate in a second interview session on Monday night (March 16).

The final selection is planned for Tuesday night (March 17) which will be the board’s regularly scheduled meeting.

The school board had intended to narrow the field to three during this week’s meeting.

However, during the initial vote and two run-off votes to break the tie Tim Towns and Bobby Storie each received four votes.

Before the voting took place, board members agreed if there was a four to four tie for the third place, a third candidate would not be selected.
