No new options on table for city hall in Carthage

The Carthage City Council has budgeted $3.5 million for a new city hall.
Exactly how and when the funds will be spent remains to be seen.
During its May meeting Thursday night, the council agreed to designate $3.5 million to the 2025-2026 fiscal year budget as funds to be spent on a new city hall.
It’s the latest in a years long search for the location for a new city hall which would include the city’s administrative offices, a council room and police department.
To this point, the council has voted down numerous locations, mainly because of public opinion and cost.
