Obit – Mr. Ferlin Darnell Sevier
Mr. Ferlin Darnell Sevier, age 68, of Gordonsville, Tn passed away suddenly July 28, 2025.
Ferlin was born March 25, 1957 in Carthage, TN a son of the late Darnell Sevier and Thelma Louise Lynch Sevier. He worked as a factory worker for several years and retired from Smith County Schools where he worked as a custodian at Gordonsville Elementary School, and he was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Ferlin was preceded in death by a brother: Steve Sevier.
Ferlin is survived by siblings: Melissa Gregory of Lebanon, TN, Janice (Michael) Ballard of Gordonsville, TN, Patricia (Steve) Massey of Elmwood, TN, Eric (Peggy) Sevier of Gordonsville, TN and Sammy (Jill) Sevier of Cookeville, TN; nieces and nephews: Shannon (Candace) Gregory, Shawna Gregory, Felicia (Jim) Gardner, Matt Ballard, Joshua Massey, Ashley Sevier, Jeremy (Nanda) Sevier, Amber (Preston) Rich, Kristina (Vince) Randolph, Miranda Sevier, Randy (Alicia) Sevier, Zac (Hannah) Sevier and Lola Smith; several great nieces and nephews and cousins also survive.
Ferlin was at the Gordonsville, TN chapel of Bass Funeral Homes where funeral services were conducted Friday August 1, 2025 at 1 PM with Rev. Jerry Moore officiating and Scott Clemons delivered the eulogy. Interment followed in the Gordonsville Cemetery.
The Sevier family request memorial donations in Ferlin’s memory be made to Bass Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
