Obit – Mrs. Janet Thomas Morrow
Mrs. Janet Thomas Morrow of the Brush Creek Community departed her earthly journey peacefully at 6:32 p.m. Saturday evening May 30, 2026 at the Smith County Health and Rehabilitation Center in Carthage where she was originally admitted September 27, 2025. Mrs. Morrow was 71.
Eld. Barney Allison officiated at the 3 p.m. Wednesday June 3rd funeral services from the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home. Burial followed in section five beside her husband, Brad, at the Defeated Creek Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Morrow was born Janet Lynn Thomas in Carthage on October 1, 1954 and was one of three children of the late Willie Price (Bill) Thomas Sr. who died August 9, 1975 at the age of 64 and the late Lester Joanna Jenkins Thomas who died July 17, 1993 at the age of 74.
A sister, Jean Thomas Brockett preceded her in death at the age of 76 on December 2, 2012 as did two nephews, Ricky Lane Brockett who died at the age of 61 on July 15, 2018 and Harry Stephens (Stevie) Brockett who died at the age of 22 in an automobile accident on September 18, 1984.
Mrs. Morrow attended Smith County High School and was a recipient of her General Education Degree.
Her husband, the late James Bradley (Brad) Morrow, to whom she married November 9, 1997, preceded her in death on November 28, 2011 at the age of 51.
She had been employed at the Ross Gear Division of T.R.W. in Lebanon and finally at the Dura Corporation in Gordonsville before her retirement.
Mrs. Morrow was saved at an early age and was a member of the North Carthage Missionary Baptist Church.
Surviving is her brother, Bill Thomas Jr. of the Russell Hill Community; and never having had children, she had five nieces and nephews who saw to her needs, Jimmy Brockett of Red Boiling Springs, Harold Brockett and wife Sherry of the Russell Hill Community, Deborah Collins and husband Darrell of Cookeville, Nicki Driver and husband J. D. of the Chestnut Mound Community, Austin Thomas and wife Kendra of Carthage.
The family requests memorials to the Jordan Hackett Foundation.
