GORDONSVILLE — The Gordonsville Tigers football team kept their perfect 2025 run intact and the hopes of a potential 10-0 regular season alive with a 42-0 victory over former Region 4-1A foe Red Boiling Springs.
Big Blue had a last minute change to their Week Ten tilt with the Bulldogs as the contest was moved to last Thursday after the Gordonsville volleyball team clinched an appearance in Friday’s Class 1A title game with a semifinal victory Wednesday.
“I thought the kids handled it great this week,” said Gordonsville head coach Jackson. “It was a weird week — we took off Tuesday so the guys could go watch the volleyball team. We moved the game to tonight (Thursday) so they could go watch the championship game tomorrow.”
Jackson continued, “I thought our kids did a great job. They came out and played hard. We got everybody in the game which is always good. Late in the season, you do not usually get that. I thought our kids did a great job of respecting our opponent and respecting the game.”
The Tigers starters were pulled midway through the second frame as Gordonsville pounced out to a 21-0 lead in less than a quarter and a half of play.
Gordonsville’s big play capability was on full display as four of the hosts five touchdowns covered 20 plus yards.
Big Blue improved to 9-0 for the program’s best start since 1986 — the last Gordonsville team to have an undefeated regular season.
