The accolades and achievements continue to mount for the 2024 Gordonsville High Tigerettes softball team.
Last Monday night, the back -to-back Class A champions were tabbed as the Girls Team of the Year at the Middle Tennessee High School Sports Awards.
Big Blue star and University of Tennessee commit Kailey Plumlee took home the Softball Player of the Year honor during the awards show that recognizes athletes across the midstate in all classifications. Plumlee was also a nominee for the overall Girls Player of the Year — which included female athletes from all sports.
Plumlee shined in the pitching circle and at the plate — collecting 359 strikouts in 149 innings pitched. The junior only allowed 33 hits and compiled a 28-2 record in the circle. The power pitching lefty had a 0.99 ERA.
Plumlee was dangerous at the plate posting a.551 batting average and collecting 22 home runs. Plumlee also posted 68 RBIs.
