Obit – Mr. Richard Roberts

Mr. Richard Roberts age 63 of Hartsville passed peacefully on Saturday morning July 28th 2024 at the Smith County Health and Rehabilitation Center in Carthage where he had made his home since March 18, 2024. He was pronounced deceased at 7:38 a.m. by Gentiva Hospice of Lebanon who had been assisting the family with his care.

Mr. Roberts was at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home and was cremated at the Cumberland Family Services in Algood. There will be a Celebration of Life held by the family at a later date.

He was born Richard Lee Roberts in Oneida in Clay County, Kentucky on May 3, 1961 and was the son of the late Betty Jean Parks Roberts and his father, Clinton “Gin-man” Roberts, a World War II veteran of the United States Army died at the age of 91 on January 18, 2016.

Two brothers preceded him in death, Danny an Mack Roberts.

On June 3 2013 he was united in marriage to the former Rissie Rachel McQueen, who survives.

He was of the Christian faith.

Mr. Roberts was a recipient of his General Education Degree.

He was a retired sawmill employee.

Surviving in addition to his wife Rissie are two children, Tish Roberts Rowland and husband Robert of Hartsville, Benjamin Roberts and wife Janie of Columbia, Kentucky; sister, Rosalie “Rosie” McQueen of Tyner, Kentucky; two brothers, Lloyd Roberts and Ricky Roberts both of Manchester, Kentucky; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
