TOTAL TEAM EFFORT; Grisham’s 5 TD performance, stingy defense powers Tigers in third straight shutout against TCHS

GORDONSVILLE — The Gordonsville High Tigers football team remained unblemished in the 2024 season and extended their win streak against the Trousdale County Yellow Jackets to three games in the series.

Big Blue registered a 41-0 victory over the visiting Yellow Jackets last Friday night at Turney Ford Field. The shutout was Gordonsville’s third consecutive against Trousdale County.

The Tigers improved to 3-0 overall as senior Bryson Grisham had another dazzling performance — adding to his highlight reel with five total touchdowns.

Grisham’s night included an electrifying 82 yard touchdown on the game’s opening kickoff.

“I think on our kickoff return it is always good to take the football, not have to call an offensive play and already have the lead on the scoreboard,” said Gordonsville football head coach Stephen Jackson. “It was awesome by the kickoff return team getting behind their pads and blocking and Bryson (Grisham) taking it to the house.”

The senior rusher added 126 yards on the ground along with four scores. Grisham averaged 10.5 yards per carry.

Grisham has eclipsed 100 yards in each of his first three starts this fall.

“I thought he had  a great night and the offensive line did a great job blocking,” said Jackson. “We blocked good on the perimeter with a few good outside runs. It was a good team effort tonight and a good team win.”
