Obit – Ms. Trudy Horton
Ms. Trudy Horton of Nashville was discovered deceased at her Buchannan Street apartment and was pronounced deceased at the scene at 9:30 a.m. Saturday morning November 2, 2024. She was transferred to the Metro Medical Examiner Office. Ms. Horton was 52.
She was released to the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home on Monday afternoon November 23rd.
Ms. Horton was cremated at Cumberland Family Service in Algood and her cremains will be buried in the Garden of the Cross at the Smith County Memorial Gardens.
She was born Trudy Garnette Johnson in Corry in Erie, Pennsylvania on October 30, 1972 and was the youngest of three children and was the daughter of Oklahoma native, Mrs. Linda Sue Roberts Caldwell of Gordonsville and the late Massachusetts native Grant Leonard Johnson.
A sister, Sheri Denise Johnson, preceded her in death on March 17, 1968.
In Gallatin in 2001, she was united in marriage to Buffalo, New York native, Timothy Lee Horton who now resides in Denver, Colorado.
Ms. Horton was a 1992 graduate of the Gordonsville High School.
She was employed in housekeeping at the Millennium Maxwell House Hotel on Rosa Parks Boulevard in Nashville.
Ms. Horton was a non-denominational Christian.
Surviving in addition to her husband Tim and mother Linda, is a daughter Lindsey Cook and husband Zachery of Watertown; sister, Tracey Martin and husband Michael of the Watervale Community; two grandchildren, Hadley Kate Cook and Zoe Mae Cook both of Watertown.
