Obit – Mrs. Tina Frizzell

Mrs. Tina Frizzell age 80 of Tell City, Indiana and formerly of Carthage passed peacefully from this life at 11:34 a.m. Saturday morning September 12, 2026 at the Hartford House Hospice Center in Owensboro in Daviess, County, Kentucky where she was just admitted Friday September 11th.

Funeral services were conducted from the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, September 19. Rev. Monica Mowdy, former pastor of the Carthage United Methodist Church, officiated. Interment followed in the Gordonsville Cemetery. 

Born Tina Lynn Igou in Mobile, Alabama on June 30, 1946, she was one of two children of Bill Igou and Gloria Weatherby Igou Atchley. Her brother, William Terry Igou, preceded her in death on October 5, 2016 at the age of 66.

Mrs. Frizzell was also preceded in death by a son, John William Payne, who lost his battle with cancer on March 27, 2020 at the age of 47.

In Gatlinburg on May 25, 2001, she was united in marriage to Gregory Wayne Frizzell.

She was a 1964 graduate of Lebanon High School and later received her business degree from Cumberland University. Mrs. Frizzell worked for 25 years as a buyer for TRW Automotive before her retirement.

While living in Smith County, she and her husband had attended the Carthage United Methodist Church. Since their move to Indiana, she had been a member of the First Baptist Church of Tell City.

Surviving in addition to her husband Greg are her children, Jenny Bowles & husband Sam of Mitchell, SD, Eric Frizzell & wife Trish of Tell City, IN, Jeremy Kempf & wife Breanna of Tell City, IN; six grandchildren, Makensie & Callie Barrett, Nova Leigh & Gunner Frizzell, Luke & Alena Kempf.
