Obit – Mr. Danny Upshaw

Pine Bluff, Arkansas native, Mr. Danny Upshaw, departed this life at the age of 65 at 11 a.m. Wednesday May 7, 2025 at his Main Street North, Pin Oak apartment. With his family and cherished partner Clarice Floyd present, he was pronounced deceased by Gentiva Hospice of Livington who had been lovingly assisting his family with his care in his wanning days.

Mr. Upshaw was at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home where he had pre-arranged to be cremated at the Cumberland Family Services in Algood. Danny’s memory will be honored at a private family gathering.

Born Danny Lane Upshaw in Pine Bluff in Jefferson County, Arkansas on March 2, 1960, he was one of three children, two daughters and one son of the late Richard Wayne Upshaw who died April 16, 2004 at the age of 80 and Claudette Gilbert Upshaw who died June 11, 2017 at the age of 79.

An infant brother preceded him in death at the age of 2 days old.

Mr. Upshaw was saved in 1967 at the age of 7 and joined the Dickerson Road Baptist Church where he remained a member at his death.

He was a 1978 graduate of Madison High School and attended Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro.

Mr. Upshaw had a long career at Ingersoll Rand in White House and retired on October 31, 2024 as a parts layer inspector from Taiho Manufacturing (formerly Bentley-Harris) in Gordonsville.

Since a very young age, Danny loved being outdoors. He was an avid tennis player and enjoyed fishing during his free time.

Danny kept his great sense of humor until the very end. He adored animals and never passed up a cup of coffee. 

His generous spirit made him an unforgettable and loyal friend to many.

Surviving are his two sisters, Debra Allen of Crossville and Vicki Ator and husband Greg of Lebanon nieces, Traci, Melissa and Amy (Kevin) and great nieces and nephews, Parker, MaryAnn, Colton, and Fritz.
