Obit – Ms. Era Mai Underwood

Ms. Era Mai Underwood, age 75, of the Jenkins Hill Road Community passed away Thursday July 31, 2025

Era Mai was born November 26, 1949 a daughter of the late John Cramp “J.C. Jack” Underwood and Mary Etta Hix Underwood. She was also preceded by brothers: Claude Jackson “Jackie” Underwood, Marlin McArthur Underwood, Gene Underwood and Ray Leonard Underwood. She was a member of the Hickman Baptist Church. She retired from the Smith County Schools where she was employed as a Special Education teacher.

Era Mai is survived by a brother: Ralph (Patricia) Underwood; sister-in-law Lurlie Underwood; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.

Graveside services for Era Mai were conducted at the Gordonsville Cemetery on Saturday August 2, 2025 at 5PM.
