Obit – Mr. Jimmie Carver

After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Jimmie Carver of the Riddleton Community passed from his earthly journey at 5:16 a.m. Tuesday morning August 18, 2026 at his Preacher Road Home in the Riddleton Community, where he had lived for most of his life. He entered eternity to be with his parents, a sister and brother. He was pronounced deceased at 7:15 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Graveside services and interment in the Carver family plot at the Rockvale Cemetery in the Cages Bend Community were conducted on Friday afternoon August 21st at 1 p.m. Pastor Jerry Payne officiated.

He was born Jimmie Marshall Carver in Carthage on January 4, 1958 and was one of nine children, six daughters and three sons of the late Willie Marshall “Mike” Carver who departed this life on October 11, 1996 at the age of 65 and Henrietta Stewart Carver who was called home October 22, 2024 at the age of 91.

Jimmie’s sister, Brenda Cheryl Carver Carter, passed from her earthly walk on June 12, 2003 at the age of 50 and his brother, Jeffery Wayne Carver entered eternity on October 7, 2019 at the age of 59.

Mr. Carver was a member of the 1975 graduating class at Smith County High School where he majored in Social Studies. His sophomore year he was a member of the Spanish Club and his freshman and sophomore year he was in the Pep Club.

Mr. Carver was saved at an early age and was united with the Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in the Elmwood Community.

He retired in 2017 from Purity Dairies in Nashville where he was a truck driver. 

Surviving are Jimmie’s two children, Sara Carver of Cookeville and Jerad Marshall Carver of the Riddleton Community; the mother of his children, Milissa House Carver of the Riddleton Community; five sisters, Beverly Carver Means and husband Aaron of Charlotte, North Carolina, Barbara Carver Sales of Hermitage, TN, Becky Carver Cameron and husband Willie of Nashville, Bridget Carver Weir and husband Ray of the Lascassas Community in Rutherford County, Tina Carver of the Riddleton Community and Jerry Keith Carver and wife Nicole of Atlanta, Georgia; a host of nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends.
