Obit – Mr. Billy Young McClanahan

Mr. Billy Young McClanahan, age 94, of Alexandria, TN, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2026.

Mr. McClanahan was born June 9, 1932 in Grant, TN, a son of the late David Dorris McClanahan, Sr, and Sarah Aline Young McClanahan. He married Peggy Granstaff McClanahan on August 16, 1958 and she preceded him in death on January 23, 2013. Mr. McClanahan was also preceded in death by Brothers; James Oscar McClanahan and David Dorris McClanahan, Jr and Sisters; Selma McClanahan, Frances Gwaltney, and Pauline Williams. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Clanahan was a graduate of Gordonsville High School and a member of the Brush Creek Church of Christ.

Mr. McClanahan is survived by Children; Robin Watson of Alexandria, TN, and Traci McClanahan of Alexandria, TN. Grandchildren; Logan Watson of Alexandria, TN, and Courtney Watson of Murfreesboro, TN.

Celebration of Life and Graveside Services for Mr. McClanahan will be held at New Hope Cemetery in Alexandria, TN, and will be announced when they are available.
