Stolen vehicle, drugs located

A sheriffs department investigation into a man who fled from a deputy led to an in-depth investigation and charges being filed against two people.

On September 4, Deputy Nathan Williams discovered a black sedan  traveling along Lebanon Highway/Highway 70 west near Flat Rock Road.

Deputy Williams attempted to stop the vehicle because the driver was not wearing a seatbelt and the vehicle’s license plate was not legible.

When Deputy Williams attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver accelerated, leading to a pursuit reaching speeds up to 130 miles per hour, according to an offense report filed by narcotics Lt. Junior Fields.

The vehicle turned around into a driveway on Lebanon Highway and began traveling in the direction of Deputy Williams’ patrol vehicle.

Eventually, the vehicle entered into Wilson County, turning onto Big Springs Road located off Highway 70 in Wilson County.

The deputy temporarily lost sight of the vehicle at the intersection of Big Springs Road and Linwood Road which leads to Interstate 40.

However, the deputy was able to obtain a partial license plate number and using “Flock” technology, leading to a person of interest in the case.

The vehicle was registered to a male subject wanted in Wilson County for violation of probation. The individual also had prior felony violations for evading arrests, according to Lt. Fields offense report.
