Obit – Ms. Linda Gregory
Ms. Linda Gregory age 83 of the New Middleton Community died peacefully with her five children at her bedside where they had made a constant vigil since her admittance to Highpoint-Sumner in Gallatin on September 27th from Highpoint Health – Riverview with Ascension St. Thomas in Carthage. She was pronounced deceased at 4:44 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon September 29, 2026.
Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday afternoon October 24th at 1 p.m. in the West section of the Dixon Springs Cemetery. Burial will follow between her parents and nephew, Clifton Gregory. Jack McCall will deliver the eulogy. The family will receive friends following the graveside services.
Born Linda Joyce Gregory in Hartsville on February 3, 1943, she was one of four children, three daughters and a son and was the daughter of the late Jesse William Gregory who died March 14, 1981 at the age of 78 and Edith Aline Goad Gregory who died May 7, 1998 at the age of 84.
Ms. Gregory was a retired computer programmer.
She attended Trousdale County High School and was a recipient of her General Education Degree.
The Gregory family attended the Church of Christ in Hartsville.
Surviving of her four children who were preceded in death by their father, George Edwin Oldham, are Esq. Scott (Toby) Oldham and his wife Krista Jones Oldham of College Station, Texas, Chris J. Oldham, Tommy Lee (Duke) Oldham and wife Connie Hailey Oldham of Gallatin, Patricia Oldham Driver and husband Steve of the New Middleton Community, another son, who is the son of Billy Lee Hunnicutt of Gallatin, Esq. Jason Lee Hunnicutt of Knoxville; brother, Charles William Gregory and wife Martha of the Rome Community; two sisters, Elaine Gregory Steelman of Mount Juliet and Faye Gregory Jones of Hendersonville, North Carolina; six grandchildren, Patrick Lancaster, Sydney Carter and husband Taylor Carter, Stefanie Driver, Amanda Oldham, Emily Oldham, and Harrison Hunnicutt.
The Gregory family has requested memorials to either the Trousdale County Humane Society or the Smith County Humane Society.
