Obit – Mrs. Jeanette Grimes Cook

Mrs. Jeanette Grimes Cook, age 95 of Brush Creek, TN, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2026.

Mrs. Cook was born November 25, 1930 in Loudon, TN, a daughter of the late Charlie Estelle Grimes and Isabell “Shine” Scott Grimes. She married Rev. Fred S. Cook on December 31, 1950 and he preceded her in death on May 21, 2020. Mrs. Cook was also preceded in death by Brother; Jimmy Grimes, Sister; Linda Sue Grimes, Son; Billy Wayne Cook, and Daughter; Tracey Lynn Cook.

She was a minister’s wife most of her life. She was a member of the Living Waters Ministry Church of God in Gordonsville, TN. She loved to laugh, to hear a good joke, and playing Rook and Phase 10.

Mrs. Cook is survived by Daughter; Sharon (Bishop Richard) Blackburn of Brush Creek, TN. Grandchildren; Kelly Jernigan of Loudon, TN, Kerrey Rowe of Brush Creek, TN, and Rev. Kevin (Diana) Blackburn of Hickman, TN. Great-grandchildren; Dillon, Jake, Kie, Samuel, Alivia, and Ezra. Great-great-grandchildren; Landon, Kynlee, Paityn, and Layla.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Cook are scheduled to be conducted at Living Waters Ministries Church of God in Gordonsville, TN, on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at 6PM with Rev. Kevin Blackburn and Bishop Richard Blackburn officiating.

Graveside Services and Interment for Mrs. Cook are scheduled to be conducted at the New Steekee Cemetery in Loudon, TN, on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at 1PM EST.

Visitation with the Cook Family will be at the Living Waters Ministries Church on Tuesday from 4PM until service time at 6PM.
