OBIT: Mr. Mitchell Lee Fields, age 66 of Gordonsville, TN

Mr. Mitchell Lee Fields, age 66 of Gordonsville, TN passed away on Monday, October 17, 2016.

Mr. Fields was born June 12, 1950, the son of the late RJ Fields and Avanah Rippetoe Fields. Mr. Fields was married to Martha Mai Bennett Fields on November 20, 1970 and she preceded him in death on February 10, 2009. Mr. Fields graduated from Smith County High School in 1970 and worked at the Welsh Co. and then for Precision Rubber for over 30 years. He also worked as a Custodian at Gordonsville Elementary School. Mr. Fields attended the Church of Christ.

Mr. Fields is survived by Son; Roger Fields. Siblings; Betty Ann Fields of Portland, TN, Robert Gail Fields and Christine Donoho of Lafayette, TN, Roselle Sampson of Gordonsville, TN and Carl “Charlie” Brown of Carthage, TN, Mike (Mary) Fields of Hartsville, TN, Carolyn Spivey of Sparta, TN, and Marilyn Fields Hall of White House, TN. Aunts; Myrtle Scarlett of Gentry, TN, and Martha Fields of Algood, TN. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Fields are scheduled to be conducted from the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 2PM with Mark Medley and Edward L. Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Gordonsville Cemetery.

Visitation with the Fields family will be held at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes on Thursday from 2PM until 8PM and on Friday after 10am until service time at 2PM.
