Obit – Mrs. Ruby Doris Davis Vaden

Mrs. Ruby Doris Davis Vaden, age 87, of North Commerce Rd in Lebanon, TN, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2026.

Mrs. Vaden was born June 10, 1939 in Grant, TN, a daughter of the late Robert Lee “Bob” Davis and Burkie Mae White Davis. She married Edward H. Vaden on February 11, 1958 and and were married for 67 years before he preceded her in death on October 11, 2025. Mrs. Vaden was also preceded in death by Siblings; Helene O’ Brien, Mary Tribble Hale, and Roberta Jean Boles. She was a longtime member of the Grant Baptist Church.

After spending several years as a homemaker, Mrs. Vaden completed LPN School in the early 1970’s. She worked at McFarland Hospital on 2North during this time. She received her Registered Nurse Degree in the early 1980’s. She cared for many patients and trained several new nurses. She was known as an excellent nurse and caregiver.

Mrs. Vaden is survived by Children; Sheila (Pal) Neal of Tuckers Crossroads, TN, and Chris (Sandra) Vaden of Auburntown, TN. Brother and Sister-in-Law; Bobby (Lurlie) Davis of Grant, TN. Grandchildren; Houston (Brooke) Neal, Hannah (Kyle) Markum, Haden (Aaron) Johnson, Jessica (Justin) Carver, C.J. (Kristen) Vaden, and Abbie (Wyatt) Close. Eleven great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Vaden were conducted from the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes on Monday, June 22, 2026 at 2PM with Bro. Donnie Rhoten and Bro. Timothy Blackburn officiating. Interment followed in the Gordonsville Cemetery.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the special care given to Mrs. Vaden from Leslie Williams and Gentiva Hospice nurses and Dru Hudgens.
