OBIT: David Dorris McClanahan, age 93, of Watertown

David Dorris McClanahan, age 93, of Watertown died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016 at Alive Hospice at Skyline Madison. He was born Apr. 16, 1923 at Grant, son of the late David Dorris McClanahan and Sarah Aline Young McClanahan and was preceded in death by a brother, James Oscar McClanahan; and sisters, Selma McClanahan, Frances Gwaltney and Pauline Williams. His wife, Mary Poston McClanahan died on July 28, 2005. David is survived by his daughter, Gloria Dixon and her husband, Michael of Watertown; grandsons, Bryan Mallory, Mike (Teresa) Mallory, David Mallory, Kyle Dixon; great grandchildren, Brittany, Cody, Krissie, Dusty and Skylar; and a brother, Billy McClanahan of Alexandria; nieces and nephews. David was a member of Bethlehem Church of Christ and a retiree of TRW Ross Gear. Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 2016 at Hunter Funeral Home with Bro. Kenneth Head and Bro. Jim Key officiating. Visitation was 4-8 p.m. Thursday and prior to services Friday. Pallbearers, William, James, Charles and Terry Poston, Ricky Weddle, David Blankenship.
