Obit – Mr. Ronald “Big Dirty” Carter
Mr. Ronald “Big Dirty” Carter, age 59 of Carthage, TN passed away Sunday October 15, 2023. Ronald was raised in the Stonewall community of Smith County.
Mr. Carter was born August 18, 1964, son of the Geraldine Cummings Carter and the late Hosea Carter Sr. He was preceded in death by brothers: Hosea Carter Jr., Paul Wallace Carter, and James Richard Carter. Ronald was a 1982 graduate of Gordonsville High School after which he served in the United States Army for 5 ½ years. He was married to Carolyn Baity Carter. He was a faithful member of Ballard Chapel United Methodist Church where he served as vice-president and vice-chair of trustees.
Mr. Carter is survived by his wife: Carolyn Baity Carter of Carthage, Tn; mother: Mrs. Geraldine Cummings Carter of Stonewall, TN; step-daughter: Victoria Carter of Antioch, TN; brothers: Dwight (Elizabeth) Carter of Stonewall, TN, Herbert Felton Carter of Detroit, MI, Donald Carter of Stonewall, TN, and Larry (Billie) Carter of Lebanon, TN.; devoted friend, April Carter; nephews: Elijah, Christian, and Antonio Carter; niece Brooklyn Carter and a host of family and friends.
Mr. Carter was at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes where funeral services were conducted on Saturday October 21, 2023, at 12 Noon. Interment followed in the Ballard Chapel Cemetery in the Stonewall community.
