Obit – Mrs. Vickie Clay
A Lafayette homemaker has died at the age of 66 following a brief illness with liver failure.
Mrs. Vickie Clay of Oldham Lane was pronounced deceased at 8:15 p.m. Sunday evening May 5, 2024 at the Riverview Regional Medical Center in Carthage where she was admitted on the morning of May 3rd.
Graveside services and interment were in section five of the Ridgewood Cemetery in Carthage at 10 a.m. Wednesday morning May 8th.
She was born Vickie Rhea Mitchell in Nashville on November 14, 1957 and was one of two children, a son and a daughter, of Jane Ann Neeley Mitchell and the late Billy Ray Mitchell.
Mrs. Clay was a 1975 graduate of East High School in Nashville.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jack David Clay.
She was of the United Methodist faith.
Surviving is her mother, Jane Ann Theis of Milton, Florida; daughter, Julie King of St. Augustine, Florida; brother, David Mitchell of Red Boiling Springs; a half-brother, Michael Ledford and wife Chris also of Milton, Florida; her caregivers, an aunt and uncle, Richard and June Goodman of Franklin, Tennessee.
