Dramatic boost in fair attendance

Officials are reporting the 2024 Smith County Fair was one of the most successful ever, attendance-wise.

The county fair recorded an approximately 35 percent increase in attendance, fair officials say.

“We can’t thank the community and fair sponsors enough for their support. Without both our fair couldn’t happen, especially with a $5 entry fee,” commented fair co-chairman Stan Webster.

Tuesday night’s free admission night turned out to be an enormous success.

Sav-Way Grocery paid admission fee for all visitors, making the night free admission for all.

Tuesday night was the largest attendance night for the county fair since its rebirth.

The night’s attendance was only 50 visitors short of Saturday’s full day attendance.
