Unique art studio open in Defeated

A rural hillside in the Defeated community is an out of the ordinary location for an art studio.

However, a former resident of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania finds it to be the perfect spot to practice her unique style of artistry. 

Inside the Beasley Hollow Artistry studio, Denise Phillips-Haney combines traditional picture painting with crafting to create incredible as well as unique works of art.

Projects begin with a mental vision, often flowers, trees or a scenery. Portions of the image are painted onto a surface.

Next crush glass and other materials are skillfully molded into the picture, forming blooms on flower stems, leaves on tree branches, etc.

The crushed glass or other materials are attached to the surface of the artwork by use of a glue gun. 

The Defeated studio is both a gift shop where Phillips-Haney creates works of art for retail sales and a classroom where she teaches classes.

Classes may include Resign and Glass Art, Glue Gun Mania, Crushed Glass Suncatchers, Fabric Baskets, Goats Milk Soap, Plastic Spoon Flowers, Acrylic Paint on Canvas Art, Cowboy Hat Painting.
