Obit – Mr. Ricky Branham

Mr. Ricky Branham of Carthage died peacefully at the Smith County Health and Rehabilitation Center in Carthage on Thursday morning August 29, 2024 He was pronounced deceased by Gentiva Hospice of Livingston at 11:45 a.m. at the age of 68. He had been a resident there since May 23, 2019 after suffering a debilitating stroke.

Mr. Branham was at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home. He had requested to be cremated and that was performed at the Cumberland Family Servies in Algood. 

The family will hold a memorial service and interment at the Bradley Cemetery on the Braley family farm in the Rawls Creek Community at a time when out of state family can attend.

Mr. Branham was one of five children, three sons and two daughters and was the son of Wilson County natives, the late Raymond Roy Branham who died March 15, 1984 and Virginia Wyre who died July 16, 2018 at the age of 86 and was born Thomas Richard Branham in Lebanon on July 26, 1956.

His father Raymond and uncle Alfred Branham were the former owners and operators of the Smith County Ornamental Works in South Carthage.

He attended Gordonsville High School through the tenth grade. 

Mr. Branham was a longtime employee working in production at the former Overstreet-Hughes Corporation in South Carthage before becoming permanently disabled.

He was a member of the Carthage Church of Christ.

The two surviving sisters are Vivian Branham Bradley and husband Bruce of the Popes Hill Community, Regina Branham Turner and husband Michael of Smithville; two brothers, Danny Branham of Carthage and David Branham and wife Annette Bane Branham of the Defeated Creek Community.
