Smith County High Lady Owls soccer standout and Gordonsville High senior Aubrey Felice has cemented her spot in SCHS soccer history after reaching the 100 goal milestone.
Felice netted the memorable 100th goal during the Lady Owls August 29th clash against Greenbrier.
The senior has continued to add to her impressive total and currently sits with 122 career goals.
In the Lady Owls most recent outing, Felice posted a hat trick with three goals fittingly during the unit’s Senior Night matchup against York at the Smith County Soccer Complex.
The five year member of the Lady Owls’ soccer team has seen her yearly goal total increase each season — tallying two as an eighth grader, 21 as a freshman, 26 during her sophomore season and 46 as a junior Lady Owl. This season the senior currently has 33 goals.
Felice reflected on her journey through the soccer program.
“The first year I played soccer I was nine and I played in the recreation league for Smith County,” said Felice. “At first, I did not like it at all and I did not want to play. I just did not like it and I had stopped playing. But my sixth grade year, one of the middle school coaches reached out to me and told me I needed to play because he knew I was fast. They knew I could benefit the team so I started playing in sixth grade again and I just fell in love with it. It changed completely for me. That is when I really started to fall in love with the game.”
