Obit – Ms. Fay Kidder

Ms. Fay Kidder ended her earthly journey at 8 p.m. Friday evening November 15, 2024 with her daughter Carla, niece Mistty Smith and husband Jason present. She was pronounced deceased at the age of 73 at 9:31 p.m. by Alive Hospice of Livingston who had been assisting the family with her care at her Hiwassee Road home in the Hiwassee community.

Graveside services are scheduled for Thursday afternoon November 21st at 1 p.m. Interment will follow beside her mother, Sarah Boblett, in the Garden of the Cross at the Smith County Memorial Gardens.

Family and friends will assemble at the Smith County Memorial Gardens for the 1 p.m. graveside service and where the Kidder family will receive friends following the graveside service.

She was born Alice Fay Boblett in Clarendon in Monroe County, Arkansas on June 13, 1951 and was the daughter and one of six children of the late George Junior Boblett who died in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1980 at the age of 60 and Sarah Ann Franklin Boblett who died June 18, 2007 at the age of 80.

A daughter, Lisa Marie Vaughn preceded her in death on December 24, 2022 at the age of 53.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley Boblett who died at the age of 75 on May 8, 2021 and by George Boblett.

Ms. Kidder was a non-denominational Christian.

She was a 1968 graduate of the Fillmore Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas.

The Boblett and Kidder families relocated to the Hiwassee Community from Little Rock, Arkansas in 1989.

Mrs. Kidder was a Licensed Practical Nurse registered with the State of Tennessee and retired in 2004 from the then Smith County Health Care Center, now Smith County Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Surviving is her daughter, Carla Williams and husband Chuck of Ashland City, two sisters, Georgia Farguson and husband Durwood, (Buster) of Little Rock, Arkansas, Debbie Boblett of the Hiwassee Community; brother, Glen Boblett of Little Rock, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Sarah Ashley Vaughn Summer Nicole Vaughn, Ryan Williams and Lauren Williams; two great-grandchildren, Grant Jones and William Vaughn.
