GORDONSVILLE — While the high school sports landscape is currently centered around basketball and the hardwood, the Gordonsville Tigerettes softball team is preparing for their 2026 campaign. A trio of Tigerettes made decisions regarding their paths after their 2026 senior season.
Big Blue outfielder Camri Johnson has signed with East Tennessee’s Johnson University, infielder Laken Roberts has inked with Tullahoma’s Motlow State and senior infielder Laura Thompson will also be in Middle Tennessee at Columbia State University.
Gordonsville softball head coach Jonathan Bush discussed the significance of the program producing collegiate talent and giving players the opportunity to continue their careers.
“Just these three kids today and to have them enjoying their day — it is about Gordonsville High School but it is really about those three extending their careers playing softball and their education,” said Bush.
Bush continued, “You saw some tears today and some laughing from parents — it is just a joy for a coach to see each year what your program is able to do and help kids know that they are able to go to the next level and play. I am just so proud of them and they are three great kids. Those three programs are getting three great kids that are going to do what they need to do — work hard. They are going to do what they need to on the field and in the classroom.”
