GORDONSVILLE — On December 12, a senior member of the Gordonsville High cheer squad officially signed with Nashville’s Trevecca Nazarene program. Cheyenne Mofield will become a member of the Trojans’ squad after the three-time UCA (Universal Cheerleaders Association) All-American concludes her Big Blue career.
“I always knew that I wanted to continue my cheer career throughout college,” said Mofield who has cheered seven years at Gordonsville. “What really made me decide to go to Trevecca, was going to tour the campus — it was really nice and also talking to coach Lexi (Laucirica) she was really kind. I have already made so many friends on the team. I like that it is Christ-centered. I think it is the best place for my future.”
Fellow GHS cheer team members, family, coaches, administration and faculty were present for Mofield’s signing day celebration. The Class of 2026 senior shared how special the signing day event was.
“It meant a lot to me — for all of my friends, coaches, teachers and principals to be here today,” said Mofield. “It just really proves that this school is such a good environment. I have so many people there for me and I know that all these people will be here for me. It is very special to have this support group.”
Mofield is also a two-time Pin It Forward recipient which is awarded from Varsity / UCA cheer camps to cheerleaders who display leadership, spirit, kindness and motivation.
