MOUND MASTERPIECE
By Shea Haile Courier Sports
SOUTH CARTHAGE — The Gordonsville High Tigers baseball team concluded their last full week of regular season play with a 7-0 victory over the Diamond Baseball Academy Miners last Friday night at Crump Paris Park.
Big Blue got a mound gem from senior lefty and East Tennessee signee Colton Bennett who struck out 20 of the 22 Miner batters faced in the shutout victory. Bennett issued one walk in the 83 pitch, seven inning outing.
The no-hitter also saw Bennett achieve career milestones — becoming Gordonsville baseball’s new all-time strikeout leader with 359.
The Big Blue hurler also broke his own single season strikeout record after posting 116 strikeouts during the 2026 regular season.
