Pipeline work

Construction on Enbridge’s Ridgeline Expansion Project continues in the northern section of the county. Here workers prepare to cross under Difficult Road at the intersection of Kempville Highway/Highway 85. Difficult Road was temporarily closed last week as construction was taking place. Motorists had to detour along Kempville Highway, Gladdice Road, Salt Lick Creek Road and back to Difficult Road while construction was taking place. At this location, the pipeline crosses under Difficult Road and Defeated Creek. The Ridgeline Expansion Project (in Smith County) passes north of the Dixon Springs community, South of the Pleasant Shade community and through the Kempville community before entering Jackson County. When completed the pipeline will run from Trousdale County to Roane County in East Tennessee.
