Obit – Mrs. Carol Ann Greene Evans

God saw she was getting tired and a cure was not to be, and with tearful eyes her family was at her bedside when Carol Ann Greene Evans was called to her eternal home by her Lord and Savior at 2:50 p.m. Wednesday afternoon June 24, 2026 at the family’s Popular Lane home in the Tanglewood Community. Carol Ann was under the care of Gentiva Hospice of Livingston. 

Funeral services from the Lighthouse Church, 62 Grant Highway, Gordonsville, TN 38563, were conducted Tuesday afternoon June 30th at 3 p.m. with the church pastor, Bro. Doug Dillard, officiating. Interment followed at the East end of her sister, Lois Vance’s grave in the Garden of Everlasting Life at the Smith County Memorial Gardens.

She was one of four children, three daughters and a son, born to the late Kenneth Wesley (Kenny) Greene who died December 19, 1973 at the age of 26 and Jacqueline (Jackie) Rhea Massey Greene Buckman who died June 5, 2022 at the age of 74.

Mrs. Evans was a member of the 1986 graduating class at Smith County High School

In Gatlinburg on April 21, 2000, she was united in marriage to Hileagh, Florida native, Michael Pascal Evans and together they enjoyed over twenty-six years of blissful marriage.

Her older sister, Lois Ann Greene Vance, sadly departed this life at the age of 59 on January 21, 2025.

Mrs. Evans was saved at the age of 30 in her bedroom at home and was a member of the Lighthouse Church in the New Middleton Community.

She retired in 2009 as an Administrative Assistant for the nursing program at Cumberland University in Lebanon.

Mrs. Evans possessed a bubbly personality and was loved and respected by all who came in contact with her.

Surviving in addition to her husband Michael are two children, Zachary Cole Lawson and wife Katie Phillips Lawson of the Monoville Community, Neely Rhea McGhee and husband Brady McGee of Carthage; sister, Joyce Green Haynes, (a twin to Lois) and Joyce’s husband Rick Haynes of Canton, Georgia; brother, Shannon Greene of the Pleasant Shade Community; granddaughter, Sophie Mae Lawson of the Monoville Community; step-father, William (Billy) Buckman of Waverly, Kentucky.
