PUBLIC NOTICE The Smith County Commission will hold a public hearing at the Smith County Ag Center Large Room, 159 Ag Center Lane, Carthage, TN 37030 on Monday, October 26, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. The Smith County Planning Commission has recommended to the County Commission certain changes to its Zoning Resolution to allow up to five (5) total building sites on tracts of land containing no less than twenty-five (25) contiguous acres in Residential and Agricultural Zoned areas when there would otherwise be insufficient road frontage. The full text of the amendment and when it would be applicable may be obtained by contacting the Smith County Planning Office at 615-735-3418. The County Commission will take action on this amendment at its meeting on October 26, 2026. All interested parties are invited to attend and will be given opportunity to speak at the Public Hearing.
