By Eddie West Staff Writer

A man is recovering after accidentally falling into a dumpster at one of the county’s convenience sites, Friday afternoon.

The county’s rescue squad and ambulance service were dispatched to the Popes Hill convenience site located on Highway 70 just east of the Rock City community.

Shortly after 1 p.m., emergency personnel received a report from a caller saying a man had fallen into a dumpster at the convenience site.

The man was depositing old furniture in one of the dumpsters when he apparently slipped or lost his footing and fell over into the dumpster.

The man, who was not an employee at the convenience site, was reportedly experiencing pain in a number of locations while still in the dumpster.
