RED BOILING SPRINGS — The Gordonsville Tigers football team made the trip to Macon County last Thursday night for their ninth game of the 2026 regular season as Big Blue squared off against former region foe Red Boiling Springs.
A 21-0 first quarter blitz set the tone as the Tigers improved to 8-1 overall with a 47-0 victory against the hosting Bulldogs.
Big Blue was able to utilize their entire roster in the dominant victory.
“I think it is huge for all these guys to get in on gameday,” said Gordonsville head football coach Stephen Jackson. “They work all year long. A lot of guys are scout team guys all year and then they all of a sudden get into a game. That is exciting and I am proud of them and the effort that they give everyday for us and we were able to reward them with going in on game night.”
The Tigers final non-region test featured a last minute shift as the contest was moved to Thursday night.
“Earlier this week they said they were going to have a lot of games this week and they were worried about officials so we got together with their coach and athletic director,” said Jackson. “We decided to make the call and move the game to Thursday night.”
“We had a good week of practice and we went in pads yesterday and had a good week improving ourselves.”
