Obit – Mrs. Lela Florence Carr

Mrs. Lela Florence Carr, age 87 of Plunketts Creek, TN, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2024. 

Mrs. Carr was born November 21, 1936 in Lebanon, TN, a daughter of the late Elzia N. Allmon and Maude Ella Denney Allmon. She married William Howard “Buddy” Carr on May 29, 1952 and he preceded her in death on April 27, 2005. Mrs. Carr was also preceded in death by Siblings; Dale Allmon and Jean Vantrease, Daughter-in-law; Ann Carr, great-great grandchild; Will Denney. She had worked at the Carthage Shirt Factory, Johnsons Retirement Center, and Blairview Home Care. 

Mrs. Carr loved her family and her special dog, Jada. She was saved in 1950 at the age of 14. She attended the Baptist church. 

Mrs. Carr is survived by Children; Sandra (Trevor) Sherrill of Grant, TN, Janice (Charles) McCrary of Rock City, TN, and William Dale Carr of Stonewall, TN. Two grandchildren; Misty (Tim) Banks. Dewayne (Denice) Hunter. Great-grandchildren; Austin (Bren) Denney, Nikki (Zac) Jackson, Kristin Denney, Cody Hunter, Serenity Zeigler, Johnnie (Criston) Zeigler, and Aubrey Denney. Eight great-great grandchildren; Jayden, Brayleigh, Elizabeth, Winston, Wylie, Wrett, Iviana, and Lilliana. 

Funeral Services for Mrs. Carr are scheduled to be conducted from the Carthage Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes on Friday, October 18, 2024 at 3PM with Bro. Jeff Oliver officiating. Interment will follow in the Roe Cemetery in Rock City, TN. 

Visitation with the family will be at the Carthage Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes on Friday from 11AM until service time at 3PM.
