Obit – Mr. Wilbert James Richardson Jr.
Mr. Wilbert James Richardson, Jr, age 81, of Brush Creek, TN, and a longtime resident of Lafayette, TN, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.
Mr. Richardson was born December 1, 1944 in Gainesboro, TN, a son of the late Wilbert James Richardson, Sr and Geraldine Cook Richardson. He was also preceded in death by father-in-law and mother-in-law; C.H. Russell and Katherine Burnett Russell. He married Sandra Russell on February 21, 1981. Mr. Richardson served his country in the United States Army in Germany during the Vietnam War. He worked for many years as an electrical contractor.
Mr. Richardson is survived by Wife of 45 years; Sandra Russell Richardson of Brush Creek, TN. Daughters; Tavvy (Kenney) Smith of Elkmont, AL and Lindsey (Brad) Sykes of Brush Creek, TN. Grandchildren; Layne (Josh) Miller, Leigha Nelson, Lily (Aaron) Rochelle, Landria Smith, Baylor Sykes, and Greer Sykes. Great-grandchildren; Beau Ellis Nelson, Maddie Miller, Kenlee Miller, and Hallie Mae Rochelle. Siblings; Lyndell Stafford, Martha Brewster, Donna Richardson, Ralph Richardson, Sue Massey, and Teresia Richardson. A host of nieces and nephews also survive.
The Richardson family will hold private family services at a later date.
