Obit – Mrs. Reba Holland
Mrs. Reba Holland of the Bagdad Community in Jackson County, entered into eternal rest at the Smith County Health and Rehabilitation Center in Carthage at the age of 93.
She was pronounced deceased at 2:45 a.m. Sunday morning September 20, 2026 under the care of Gentiva Hospice of Livingston. Mrs. Holland had been residing at the facility since October 14, 2024.
Mrs. Holland was at the Hackett Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home where Bro. Floyd Massey officiated at the 3 p.m. Wednesday afternoon September 23rd funeral services. Interment was beside her husband Darwin, of over sixty-four years, in the Holland Family Cemetery in the Bagdad Community.
Mrs. Holland was one of six children and was the daughter of the late Clifton Richardson and Lorene Long Richardson who died July 17, 1994 at the age of 82 and was born Reba Doris Richardson in the Highland Community on July 16, 1933.
Mrs. Holland experienced the loss of her daughter, Shelia Renee Holland Petty Boyd who died March 2, 2023 at the age of 63.
Siblings preceding her in death were four sisters, Birdie Richardson Allen who died April 18, 2006 at the age of 67 and Kathy Edith Richardson Hoxie, Dorothy Richardson Leonard who died August 5, 2018 at the age of 88, Barbara Ann Richardson of Clinton, Tennessee and Mrs. Holland’s only brother, L. C. Richardson of Algonac, Michigan.
Mrs. Holland was the widow of the late Darwin Fredrick Holland to whom she was married in Franklin, Kentucky on December 3, 1949 and who preceded her in death on October 27, 2014 at the age of 83.
She was a longtime member of the former Smith Memorial United Methodist Church.
For forty-two-years she was a seamstress at the former Carthage Shirt Corporation and later at the former Key Hollow Corporation before her 1999 retirement.
Surviving is her son, Ricky Holland and wife Joyce of Cookeville; two granddaughters, April Petty Rowe and husband Brandon of the Temperance Hall Community, Rhonda Holland Lee of Cookeville; five great-grandchildren, Katelyn Williamson, Andrew Williamson, Drew Sparks, Allie Prowse and husband Peyton, Grace Tomsic; two great-great-grandchildren, Jack and Joey Prowse.
