NOTICE COMMISSIONER VACANCY Smith Utility District has an upcoming vacancy on its Board of Commissioners due to the expiration of the term of a current member of the Board. The Board plans to certify a list of three nominees to submit to the Smith County Mayor to fi ll this vacancy at its regular meeting on May 7th, 2025. A SUD customer may submit a name for consideration by the Board for the list of nominees. The name of the nominee, also a SUD customer, must be submitted in writing, with a brief summary of the person’s qualifications. Commissioner Guidelines and Qualifications are available upon request. To be considered, the name must be received by the General Manager of the District no later than (1) week prior to the May board meeting. You may mail your nomination to PO Box 28, Carthage, TN 37030, or hand deliver to the office at 193 Gordonsville Hwy. Decisions by the Board of Commissioners on customer complaints brought before the Board under the District’s customer complaint policy may be reviewed by the Tennessee Board of Utility Regulations pursuant to Section 7-82-702(7) of Tennessee Code Annotated. PUBLIC NOTICE TO: The Public and All Interested Parties FROM: Smith County Government PROJECT NAME: Little Sunshine’s Academy CDBG GRANT TO: B-20-DW-47-0001 DATE OF COMPLETION: 4/11/25 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Upper Cumberland Development District, acting as the Smith County Government of 122 Turner High Circle Carthage, TN 37030 has completed the construction and/or implementation of the CDBG-funded project, Little Sunshine’s Academy, located at, 117 Eatherly Landing Rd Carthage, TN 37030. Any claims related to the completion of this project must be submitted in writing to at 1104 England Drive, Cookeville, TN 38501 within 10 days from the date of this notice. For further information, please contact: Mayor Jeff Mason Smith County Mayor (615)735-2294 DATED: 4/11/25 The scope of work for this project included construction of the building of eight different classrooms. Junior toilets and sinks were installed in classrooms 1, 2, 4, 5, and 7. Upgrades have been made to exterior doors, windows, and flooring to meet code compliance as well as adequate handicap restrooms throughout the facility. A laundry room, freshly painted rooms, and all new flooring have been completed for this new addition. The project was funded in part by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG-CV) Program.

PUBLIC NOTICE The Town of South Carthage will conduct a public hearing on Thursday May 1, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. The purpose of this hearing is to solicit comments from the public on the passage of the following Ordinances: 1. ORDINANCE 25-446 MUNICIPAL FLOODPLAIN ZONING ORDINANCE: An ordinance adopted for the purpose of amending the Town of South Carthage of Smith County, Tennessee Municipal Zoning Ordinance Regulating Development within the corporate limits of South Carthage, Tennessee, to minimize danger to life and property due to fl ooding, and to maintain eligibility for participation in the National Flood Insurance Program. 2.
