Race For Jordan Saturday

Hundreds of participants are expected for Saturday’s (May 2) annual Race For Jordan 5K Run/Walk and Fun Run.

The event takes place each year in the Turkey Creek community at the Cordell Hull Dam site located on Corps Lane off Turkey Creek Highway.

This will mark the 23rd year the event has been held.

The 5K run/walk will be held beginning at 9 a.m.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. 

The event also features a fun run for children.

The event is held rain or shine. 

Each year, the event is held in recognition of Jordan Hackett, son of Stephen and Karen Hackett, who was born on June 7, 2002, with a heart defect known as Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. Hackett passed away on October 14, 2002, following his second open heart surgery.
