Obit – Mr. Eric Dies

Mr. Eric Dies of the Grant Community died peacefully at 4:21 a.m. Sunday morning July 5, 2026 at the Smith County Health and Rehabilitation Center in Carthage where he had made his home since January 14, 2026. Mr. Dies was 50 years of age.

Mr. Dies was at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home; graveside services were conducted on Tuesday morning July 7th at 10 a.m. Interment was in section five at the Ridgewood Cemetery.

He was born Clyde Eric Dies in Lebanon on March 30, 1976 and was the son of the late Brenda Belcher Dies and his father, Clarence Dies and wife Laura of Lebanon who survives.

He was a 1994 graduate of Watertown High School.

Mr. Dies was a non-denominational Christian and a retired over-the-road truck driver.

Surviving are two children, Chaysten Dies of the Sykes Community, Jeyland Dies of Longview, Texas, friend reared as a sister, Amber Pile of Carthage; two brothers Joey Dies and Danny Dies both of Hartsville, uncle, Jerry Dies and wife Barbara of Lebanon; numerous cousins.
