Obit – Mr. Gordon Wayne Hire

Mr. Gordon Wayne Hire, age 71 of Hartsville, TN passed away Thursday, August 31, 2023 at his home.

He was preceded in death by his  parents Frank R. Hire Sr. & Cassie Walton Hire, and brother, Frank Robert Hire Jr.

Mr. Hire is survived by wife, Teresa Hire of Hartsville, TN, son Joshua (Cory) Hire of Lebanon, TN, daughters Tera (Chris) Hix of Hartsville, TN and Tierra (Kason) Hire of Hartsville, TN, two grandchildren, Lane & Adalyn, great grandchild, Grayson, brother Steve (Susan) Wilmore of Riddleton, TN, and sister Anita Pirtle of Murfreesboro, TN.

Funeral services were held in the chapel of Anthony Funeral Home at 1 PM Monday, September 4, 2023 conducted by Bro. Edward Anderson and Bro. Jack McCall.

Pallbearers were Bud Sutherland, Daniel Summers, David Satterfield, Cass Beasley, John Steven, Michael & Jay Wilmore and Cameron Oldham.

Interment followed in the Hartsville Memorial Gardens.

Memorial donations were requested to be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
