Obit – Mr. Darrin Drake

Mr. Darrin Drake age 57, of Lancaster, TN passed away Saturday October 21, 2023.

Mr. Drake was born April 4, 1966 in Sullivan, Indiana son of Raph Drake and Lila Keegan Drake. Saved at an early age he was of the Baptist faith.

After graduation from high school Darrin attended Oklahoma State University where he received a degree in range management, he then attended Purdue University where he received his degree in Agriculture Economics. He met Jenny Ison on a blind date on August 28, 1992 and they married on February 14, 1993 after which they moved to the Lancaster community of Smith County, TN in May of 1997 to their Cowan Valley farm and where he was farm manager for the Rose Farms. He founded the Diamond D. Red Angus Cattle Company which grew out of buying his first red angus cow at the age of seven. Along with his wife Jenny they started Peaceful Pastures in 1993.

Mr. Drake is survived by his wife of thirty years: Jenny Drake of Lancaster, TN; parents, Ralph and Lila Keegan Drake of Farmersburg, IN; sister: Jill (J.R.) Lowe of Fairbanks, IN; niece, Alayna Ridge and nephew Luke Ridge. Tina Rollins Craig, intrepid assistant, and dozens of college interns and high school kids he mentored on the farm.

Mr. Drake was at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes where funeral services were conducted on Tuesday October 24, 2023 at 10AM with Pastor Darrell Garrett officiating. Interment followed on the Rose Farm in the Temperance Hall Community.

Jenny request that in lieu of flowers donations in memory of Darrin be made to The Spot Youth Ministry of Smith County.
