Obit – Mrs. Betty Jo Buchanan

Mrs. Betty Jo Buchanan, age 82 of the Chestnut Mound Community passed away Monday October 16, 2023. Mrs. Buchanan was born on March 8, 1941 in the Club Springs community of Smith County a daughter of the late Earl Madewell and Mary Magaline (Maggie) Crook Madewell. She was also preceded by siblings Dewey Madewell, Charles Madewell, Jody Grisham and Bobby Madewell. Mrs. Buchanan retired after 30 years at William L Bonnell and was Missionary Baptist in belief.

Mrs. Buchanan is survived by three children: Margaret Louise “Tinker” Head (Rob Montgomery) of Chestnut Mound, TN, Darlene Brown (La Don Harville) of Lebanon, TN and Tracey Buchanan Christensen (Joe Christensen) of Pleasant Shade, TN; grandchildren : Elizabeth Ann White (Bobby Sanders), Brian Lee Smith (Ann Smith), Rachel Michelle Smith (Rubin Vealey), Maggie Brown, Carter Brown, and Tyler Brown : great-grandchildren: Bryson Smith, Kynadee Smith, Kambri Smith, and Ella Jo Sanders.

Mrs. Buchanan was at the Carthage Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes where a celebration of life service was conducted Wednesday October 18, 2023 at 6PM with Bro Richard Gibbs officiating.
