Ms. Gerri Lovell, a former resident of Meadow Green Apartments in Gordonsville, was pronounced deceased at 2:30 a.m. Friday morning December 1, 2023 at the Smith County Health and Rehabilitation Center in Carthage where she had made her home since January 27th of this year.
Ms. Lovell was at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home and was cremated at the Cumberland Family Services in Algood.
There will be no public services conducted.
She was born Geraldine Marie Stillson in Eugene in Lane County, Oregon and was one of three children, a daughter and two sons of the late World War II U. S. Army Staff Sergeant, Boyd J. Stillson, who died in Denver, Colorado on October 29, 1983 at the age of 66 and the late Marian Ethel Phair Stillson who died May 4, 2007, also in Denver at the age of 84.
She graduate in 1967 from Colorado Springs High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado and attended Connecticut College for a brief period.
Ms. Lovell was a retired Day Care Center educator and retired in 2008.
In 2013 she relocated from Norwich, Connecticut to Gordonsville to make her home there and to be near her daughter and grandchildren.
While residing in Gordonsville she attended the Living Waters Ministries.
Surviving is a daughter, Amanda Lovell and fiancée Cody Bly of the Buffalo Community; Ms. Lovell’s two brothers, Darrell Stillson of Brevard, North Carolina and Warren Stillson of Hemit, California; three grandchildren, Gavin Caisse of the Buffalo Community, Zander Caisse of Puryear, Tennessee and Harlee Caisse of the Buffalo Community.
