Obit – Mr. Sam Pelotto

Mr. Sam Pelotto age 54 of South Carthage was pronounced deceased at his Sanders Drive home in South Carthage at 11:22 a.m. Friday morning December 8, 2023 by Gentiva Hospice of Cookeville, who had been lovingly assisting the family with his illness due to cancer. Mr. Pelotto was 54.

Mr. Pelotto’s pastor, Eld. Chris White officiated at the Monday afternoon December 11th funeral services from the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home. Following the 3 p.m. services burial will be beside Mr. Pelotto’s father in Circle Park at the Smith County Memorial Gardens.

He was one of two children, a daughter and a son, born to Mrs. Virginia Marie Daigle Pelotto of South Carthage and the late Samuel Anthony Pelotto Jr. who died at the age of 63 on August 25, 2011 and was born Samuel Anthony Pelotto III in Raceland in Lafourche Parish, Louisiana on August 19, 1969.  

Mr. Pelotto was a 1987 graduate of Gordonsville High School.

Before becoming disabled, Mr. Pelotto was employed in the factory of the Oreck Corporation in Cookeville.

He was a saved as a young man on August 18, 1996 at the age of 27 and was baptized into the full fellowship of the New Salem Missionary Baptist Church in the Elmwood Community by then pastor Eld. James “Pee Wee” Massey.

The Pelotto family relocated from Des Allemandes, Louisiana to Smith County in 1984.

Surviving in addition to his mother Virginia, is a son, Noble Pelotto and husband Alan Pruitt of Carthage and a sister Lucille Pelotto of South Carthage; Noble’s mother, Penny Pelotto Thackxton of Carthage.
