A Rock City Community homemaker, Mrs. Marcy Christian, was discovered unresponsive at her Volunteer Circle home and Smith County E-911 received a call for assistance from her niece who discovered her at 7:09 p.m. February 2, 2024.
At 75 years of age, Mrs. Christian was pronounced deceased Friday evening at 7:27 p.m. at the Riverview Regional Medical Center E.R. in Carthage.
Mrs. Christian was at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral and had requested to be cremated. That process was completed at the Cumberland Family Services in Algood. She will be buried alongside her late husband and daughter in the Clouse Cemetery in Sparta.
Born Marcella Louise Robinson in Monterey in Putnam County on December 20, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Alvin Robinson and Panzie Nabors Robinson Bias.
Mrs. Christian graduated from high school in 1965 while living in Michigan.
In Toledo, Ohio on January 10, 1967, she was united in marriage to John Henry Christian, a native of Essex in Stoddard County, Missouri. Mr. Christian preceded her in death at the age of 75 on April 15, 2021 following over fifty four years of marriage.
Mr. and Mrs. Christian’s only daughter, Rhonda Leigh Christian, preceded them in death on April 16, 2016 at the age of 47.
Mrs. Christian was a longtime school bus driver for the Wilson County Board of Education before her retirement in 2018.
The Christian family relocated to the Rock City Community in 2005 from Atlanta, Georgia.
She was of the Methodist faith.
Her only immediate survivors are her niece, Tonya Robinson Corey and husband Mark of Nashville; nephew, Robbie Robinson of Lebanon.
