Obit – Mr. Lynn Hoyte Gwaltney

Mr. Lynn Hoyte Gwaltney, 77, of Newnan, formerly of Nashville, TN and Hickman, TN passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2025, at home after an illness. He was born August 16, 1947, in Lebanon, TN to the late Luther Hoyte and Reba Gwaltney. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ritchie Gwaltney and his sister-in-law Millie Gwaltney.

Lynn grew up in Hickman and graduated from Tennessee Technological University with a BS in Industrial Engineering following a hiatus caused by honorable miliary service in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Lynn had a long and illustrious career as an Engineering Manager, primarily in the boot industry followed by retirement to Newnan.

Services will be private and held at home.

Survivors include his wife Sunny Gwaltney and his niece Amber (Gwatney) Winkler, her husband Jamie Winkler and their sons.
