Repairing slide area will cost state nearly three million dollars

Repair of a slide area on State Highway 141 will cost almost three million dollars.

The project was bid by the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) in July.

The low bid was submitted by Dement Construction Group at $2,926,194.60 which was award the project.

Other bids included: Cleary Construction Inc.—$3,326,633 and Rogers Group Inc.—$3,530,505.65.

The state estimated cost for the project was $2,862,874.50

TDOT has updated the estimated project completion date.

When the project was bid in July, the projected timeline for work to be completed was on or before December 31 of this year.

A revised completion date is on or before April 30, 2026.

The slide is located just shy of the DeKalb County line.
