Obit – Miss Suzanne Nash
A retired Lebanon Public Librarian has departed this life at the age of 79 after suffering a fall at her Yeager Place apartment in Lebanon on February 29th.
Miss Suzanne Nash was pronounced deceased at 7 p.m. on Friday evening May 17th at the Smith County Health and Rehabilitation Center in Carthage where she was admitted March 7, 2024 for therapy received because of a fracture of her pelvis bone.
Miss Nash was at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home where her friends and neighbors will have a viewing on Tuesday afternoon May 21st beginning at 3 p.m.
On Wednesday morning, May 22nd she was transported to Buford, Georgia for burial beside her parents in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Buford.
She was born Suzanne Alyson Nash in Buford in Gwinnett County on April 18, 1945 and was the only child of the late Amos E. Nash who died at the age of 34 on June 8, 1949 and Sara Shadburn Nash who died at the age of 56 on September 20, 1974.
Miss Nash was a 1963 graduate of Buford High School and received her Bachelors in Education and Art from the LaGrange College in Albany, Georgia.
She retired as an Art Teacher in the Gwinnett School system in 2002 and in 2003 relocated to Lebanon to begin her career as a Librarian.
Miss Nash was an only child and never married.
Her only survivor is her caregiver, Nancy Pettit of Lebanon.
